Battery Operated Pancreas

Just another day in the life of a diabetic…

It’s down to the wire!

By the time this blog is published, it will be less than one week until I ride in the Tour de Cure. This will be my first year riding the Tour and I am super excited to be participating! On Sunday, June 5th, 2011, I will be riding with Team Red. A team which consists of my fellow type 1’s from the ACT1 organization including our families and friends who are riding to support us in all we do. My good friend, Samantha and my boyfriend, David(also a T1) will be riding with me! We will be riding 30 miles in Manhattan. I’m a little nervous since I have never ridden in the city, but I’m keeping a positive attitude that things will work out! I am pleased that I reached my fundraising goals and am still trying to surpass them. If you would like to donate to me please click here. I would ask that if you are considering a donation, please consider giving to my friend Samantha instead. She has been working very hard on fund raising, but she signed up a little late and is falling short of her goal. She is a very good friend of mine and has always been a source of inspiration and support for me. If you would like to donate to Samantha or visit her Tour page please click here. Please keep in mind that no donation is too small! Thanks for reading and I’m sure I will have lots to share after my experience (which might even include pictures!!)!…Stay tuned!
